before & after: seashell centerpiece

In case you haven't noticed yet, our home has a slight nautical/beach theme to it.  For instance, the decorations on the fireplace mantel in our living room include coral I found at the OC Market Place.

The fireplace mantel in our family room has even more with a pair of boat propellers and a seaside patio canvas (all from Home Goods).

The desk I painted for one of our guest rooms has a small lantern filled with seashells.

Then of course, there is our guest room that has an entire nautical theme to it.  You can read more about the guest room {here}.

In case you can't tell, the lamp on the nightstand is filled with sand and seashells!

This past weekend, I added even more seashells to the mix!  I bought this silver tray at Salvation Army for $6 and just added the seashells that I had left over from filling the lamp above.  I bought the seashells awhile back at Home Goods.  Now I have a great summer centerpiece for our dining room!
