euro trip recap: part 1

I have been has been over a week since my last post!  This time my lack of postings was not because of work.  It was actually because of vacation (yay)!!!  Back in February, I posted {here} how my husband and I finally booked a trip that we had been talking about for ages.  Well, we actually just got back from that very trip after a few weeks traveling in the Netherlands and Paris.  Let me start out by saying the trip was amazing and I feel so lucky to have been able to do something like this.  I took what feels like thousands of pictures so please bear with me while I share some over the next few posts.

So let's begin...the first leg of our trip was several days in the Netherlands.  We visited several small cities and towns as well as Rotterdam, the country's second largest city and home to one of the world's largest ports.   On the first day, we went to the Openluchtmuseum ("Open Air Museum") near Arnhem.  This outdoor museum provides a good picture of Dutch life and its history.  Here are a few photos...

When we were visiting the Rotterdam harbor we had some lucky timing and were able to see a cruise ship leave this world famous port.

Here are a few other pictures from our first few days...

Hotel New York in Rotterdam
Binnenhof Church in Den Haag ("The Hague")
Rotterdam Cube Houses & Stayokay Hostel
Crab Claws at Simonis in Scheveningen
