4th of July table setting

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July holiday!  As I mentioned last week, my husband and I spent the long weekend visiting my family in my hometown.  We spent half of the trip in airplanes and airports but it was worth it to see my family and friends.  Today I wanted to share a few pictures of what our 4th of July table looked like.

Lucky for me, my mom seems to have endless rows of dinnerware at her house.  I raided her cabinets and decided to set the table with blue and white.

The food was take-out from Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q.   If you're ever in a city that has this restaurant, you have to go.  It's my favorite restaurant at home and we always try to squeeze a lunch or dinner there when we're in town.  So yummy!

To add some decorations to the patio, I made a red, white, and blue tassel garland out of some tissue paper and ribbon my mom had lying around the house.

These garlands are really quick and easy to make if you need to throw together some last minute decorations.  Earlier this year, I made a similar garland for a baby shower using streamers {discussed here}.  For this garland, I used one sheet of tissue paper for each tassel.  I folded the tissue paper in half one time and then vertically several times until the width of the top of the tassel was about 1/2 inch.  Then I cut fringe into the tissue paper leaving about 1 and 1/2 inches at the top.  Finally, I attached the top of each tassel to the ribbon.

And here is one last look at our 4th of July Bar-B-Q...
